Guide Review - Palazzo al Velabro Residence Rome - Review
A couple of years ago a room at the Pallazo Velabro was a steal--you could snag a one bedroom for just over 100 bucks a night for a seven night stay. We stayed in a one bedroom on the upper floor with a rather odd, enclosed balcony that further reduced noise as it blocked the view of Rome all around us. But if you stood on the bench you could look out over the roofline at the historic treasures below--quite a revelation. The room came with a great bathroom, an adequate kitchen, decent air conditioning, and wonderful soundproofing. Sleeping in a hotel was never better. The hotel's location puts it near the Jewish ghetto and a short walk over the Tiber to Trestevere. Go north and you're right smack in the middle of the Roman Forum.
